I spent ten years feeling like I was heading in the wrong direction.
Exhausted, emotionally drained, and creatively depleted. The work I do for Blackbird is important to me because I know what it means to feel aimless, lacking guidance, and unfulfilled creatively. My goal is to make artists feel like they have a partner and advocate, bringing understanding and support to their creative career goals.
For a decade, I worked behind the scenes in corporate administrative roles, supporting lawyers, marketing managers, and CEOs.
It made sense on paper, but it never felt like home. I was a creative at heart, but I worked in fields that left little room for imagination. Over time, that disconnect became impossible to ignore. I felt unfulfilled, incomplete, and disconnected from the work I was doing. At the same time, I kept hearing a similar refrain from multiple artists: “It feels like there’s never enough time to just create.” Beyond the studio, artists are expected to be marketers, project managers, grant writers, contract negotiators, and logistics experts—often without support.
Many wished they had a team to help carry the load. That’s when everything clicked…
I decided to take the organizational, strategic, and operational skills I spent years refining in corporate spaces and apply them to the art world—specifically, in service of artists.

I became my first case study. Once I committed to treating my creative practice with the same strategy and structure as a business, everything shifted. I’ve curated multiple exhibitions, facilitated collaborations with hundreds of artists, had my work featured in several shows, and generated thousands of dollars in art sales.
Blackbird Arts was born from that intersection, where structure meets creativity, and artists are finally supported in ways that allow them to do what they do best: create.
